EMERGENCY SCHOOL CLOSURE INFORMATION
Each emergency brings with it its own uniqueness. Although it is impossible for us to have one set of procedures that would cover all situations the following are some basic guidelines and the procedures Concordia will follow. SCHOOL CLOSED FOR THE DAY OR LATE START Concordia will utilize major television and radio stations to broadcast information (Refer to the above list of stations that will report Concordia’s status).You may also log on to www.schoolreport.org, and check the Private School closure information. You can have emergency and or informational messages emailed directly to your inbox if you “Sign Up for Email Alerts” at the schoolreport.org site. Please remember the following: -Days when school starts late will be referred to as “10:00 AM Start” days. -Hot lunch will be served on “10:00 AM Start” days, however the menu may be changed. -There is NO morning Extended Care on “10:00 AM Start” days. -There is NO Pre-Kindergarten on “10:00 AM Start” days. -There is NO half-day Kindergarten on “10:00 AM Start” days. SCHOOL CLOSED DURING THE DAY In the event that school needs to be closed during the course of the school day, we will make every attempt to contact you. In the event of a regional crisis (earthquakes of a major nature, severe storm etc.), please come and pick up your children as soon as safely possible.
In the event of a crisis on campus (lock down type) please follow the directions of the local authorities.
After or during an emergency situation phone lines become overloaded or inoperative. Again, we will be making every effort to contact you. (It is critical that we have up-to-date phone numbers and emergency contacts on file). We will also try to publicize any information via the T.V./radio.
Whenever children are taken from the school grounds they need to be signed out through the office or other designated area. It is critical we know when a child is leaving the school grounds.
Please be assured that we will stay with your child until you are able to get here.
