Mrs. Rachel Banta

Hello, and thank you for checking out my biography. My name is Rachael Banta, and I am Concordia’s Pre-K teacher in the A.M., and assist with teaching in the Resource Room in the afternoon. I chose Early Childhood as my career because I really believe in the philosophy of early learning. I feel honored to be part of a strong beginning for our students. I also have a passion for identifying learning challenges for students and being part of the solution.  My work in the Resource Room allows me to put this into practice. My favorite thing is to listen to children read.

I grew up here in Pierce County, and love being a Washington native. I went to college at Trinity Lutheran and graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education and Biblical Studies. I have taught Pre-K for 14 years, with a few breaks to be at home with my children. I absolutely LOVE teaching, and being a mom. I have two kids, Samuel (14), and Abigail (9), and they attend school here at Concordia. I felt called to teach at Concordia because I admire the overall program and wanted this atmosphere for my children.

In my spare time (haha), I enjoy teaching dance classes, Zumba, running, theater, reading, wedding coordinating, church activities, music, and shopping.
