7th Grade is a year of big changes in all areas:  physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional.  ESPECIALLY emotional.  The best thing we adults can do for this age group is to be the stabilizing factor.  Keep your cool; don't get sucked into the current drama.  Chances are, by the time you've figured out what's at the bottom of the latest drama, it will have passed.

If something sounds serious, please don't hesitate to contact me.  I can tell you what I know about the situation, and together we can determine how best to proceed.  You can imagine how many mood swings and outbursts - both gleeful and angry - I face in an average day.  A big part of my job is to deal with everything calmly and rationally.  It's the 7th grader's job to be the irrational one, right?
