About Mrs. Gerken...
Ruth was hired·as the Kindergarten·educators’ assistant·at Concordia Lutheran School.· She now works with kindergarten, first, second and third graders.· She also works in the extended care after school program.· Ruth is a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where her husband, Rev. Daniel Gerken, is currently pastor.· They have one son who is married·and·has given them·a handsome grandson.· Ruth is involved in choir, as chairperson of·The Good Shepherd’s Little Lambs Preschool Board, and as a volunteer at the Tuesday Night·Free Meal at Good Shepherd.· She also leads a women’s Bible study.· The Gerkens enjoy walking, biking, traveling, and taking photographs, as well as gardening and canning.

About Mrs. Montgomery…
When Terri was three she moved to Panama, Central America, where she lived for ten years.· She grew up climbing mango trees and catching royal blue butterflies and even saw a wild 3-toed sloth climbing on her tricycle one day.·· As a teen, Terri grew up in Tacoma and attended Ford Junior High, Lincoln High School, and Fort Steilacoom Community College.· She and her husband Greg have three children, 2 girls and a boy, and also a son-in-law. Terri loves to volunteer, so much so that at one time she led 2 Girl Scout troops, a Cub Scout troop and volunteered at many Concordia events as well.· Terri enjoys attending St. Luke’s Church in Federal Way, and her interests are photography, scrapbooking, and traveling (especially going on cruises).

Carolyn has been working with children from ages 2 through 14 for over 30 years, mostly as a caregiver.· Carolyn has been married to husband, Jack, for over 40 years.· They arrived in Tacoma in 1968, moving from Northeast Iowa to start their life together and raise their son, Jamey, who also lives in Tacoma.· Carolyn has worked with children from Jamey’s co-op preschool, on to elementary school, and then at Tacoma Day Nursery in the Hilltop area of Tacoma.· Thinking she was finished working, realized she still needed her “Kid Fix,” so she searched out Concordia Lutheran School for volunteer work which turned into employment.· Carolyn and Jack are outdoors enthusiasts:· ·tent camping, fishing, and rock hounding.· Carolyn attends Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Laurice has spent her working career with children; first, as a pre-school/daycare provider and later as a Learning Edge staff member and Director of Extended Care at Concordia. She and her husband Ben have been married for more than 30 years. They have four children:· one daughter and three sons (all Concordia alumni!) and two grandchildren. ·Laurice and her family enjoy being outdoors.· Fishing, camping, hiking, and being at the ocean are high on her list of favorite pastimes.· She and her husband attend Immanuel Church.

Debbie has worked in extended care for many years. She is married to her wonderful husband Ken, and they enjoy going to estate sales and antique shows as well as camping in their motor home and taking long walks on the beach. They have 3 beautiful daughters, two of whom have graduated from Concordia and one who is presently attending. She has two awesome grandchildren whom she adores very much and cares for while their parents work. She enjoys reading and studying the Bible and attending a women’s Bible study group. Debbie is an involved member at By His Word Christian Center, actively teaching a children’s Sunday school class.. Debbie's interests involve what is most important to her:· her Lord and her family.
